Experiencing Women's Philanthropy

by Jody Hurwitz Caplan, Vice President, Community Engagement

Each quarter the Women’s Philanthropy newsletter team meets to choose a topic on which to focus our next newsletter. Our goal is to inform and inspire readers – to explain how gifts to the UJA Campaign translate into services that change lives here, in Israel, and around the world, and to show why so many women choose to share their time and resources supporting Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ. We write about programs, events, and people with hopes that knowing more about Women’s Philanthropy will spark an interest in you to learn more and to participate more, and that, through these articles, we reduce barriers to involvement by introducing easy access points to become acquainted with Women’s Philanthropy.

This newsletter is an opportunity to experience Women’s Philanthropy. We are highlighting many of the programs Women’s Philanthropy has offered this past year. The broad range of events recognizes that we are a community with varied interests. Some women want to study Jewish text, others want to hear about Israel, while many come to be with women who share their values. We think Women’s Philanthropy provides all of this and more. These articles present an overview of what we’ve attended, what we’ve learned, and actions we’ve taken as a result of these common experiences. We hope they inspire you.

This is my last article in my role as Vice President, Women’s Philanthropy.  Working with Laura, Jane, Beth, and Beth has been a pleasure and reinforces the idea that you get back more than you give.

The team will be meeting over the summer to discuss future newsletters. We welcome your comments. Let us know what works for you and how we can improve. Be in touch if you have thoughts about an article you’d like to read or one you might like to contribute. Please send your comments via email to Laura Queller, Women’s Philanthropy VP, Communications and Marketing, at quellerd@aol.com.

Best wishes to you for a great summer,

Jody Hurwitz Caplan
