Global Connections

Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ is committed to maintaining the vibrancy and continuity of our people worldwide and to building meaningful connections between our Jewish community and to our partners around the world.

Through our department Global Connections: Israel, Greater MetroWest, and the World we focus on our values of Zionism, Peoplehood, and Innovation. To give the community a clear sense of the depth and breadth of what we do, we have organized our work into four “platforms,” or subgroups, each focusing on a different region.

“We are a people living in the four corners of the earth. Critical to our peoplehood are the connections we build with Jews wherever they live.”

Global Connections Platforms

  • Celebrate Israel

Here in Greater MetroWest NJ, we live Israel every day! We’ve compiled this virtual celebration of Israel, including educational and entertaining videos, educational materials, and ways you can stay connected to Israel all year long through our Federation program...

  • Meet Our Rishonim and Shlichim

Each year, in partnership with the Jewish Agency for Israel, Federation welcomes a delegation of rishonim (young Israeli emissaries) to Greater MetroWest to educate children, teens, and adults throughout the community. These 18-year-olds are here for a gap year between high school and army service.

  • Travel Opportunities

There is no better way to make meaningful connections than to experience Israel and other overseas Jewish communities for yourself. Federation offers a variety of travel and work opportunities for people of all ages.

  • Partner Communities

As part of its commitment to Jewish people throughout the world, Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ has developed special relationships with nine overseas communities: seven in Israel, one in Cherkassy, and one in Odessa.

Federation partners with the following agencies to provide services to the worldwide Jewish community.
