September 2014 – What’s New in Women’s Philanthropy

This issue of the e-newsletter highlights some of the new programming Women’s Philanthropy is planning this year. In bringing back a Women’s Shabbaton and the Leadership Power Series and offering new opportunities like a Young Women’s Mission to Israel and the Center for Volunteerism, Women’s Philanthropy hopes to inspire you to learn, grow, and connect.

Also new this year is my position of Vice President, Community Engagement. In this role I look forward to helping all of our wonderful women learn about Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ and Women’s Philanthropy. I would like nothing more than to identify ways for all of us to contribute to the good work of Federation in ways that will be personally satisfying, meaningful, and rewarding.

If you know someone who might like to know more about our Jewish community or if you yourself are interested in taking a fresh look at Women’s Philanthropy, I hope you’ll contact me at caplan973@comcast.net.

Women’s Philanthropy Shabbaton Returns After 10 Years

By Robin Sysler, VP Women’s Philanthropy - Education

For the first time in 10 years Women’s Philanthropy will be gathering together for an inspiring and relaxing Shabbaton. It is a perfect opportunity for the incredible women of Greater MetroWest to celebrate the beauty and traditions of Shabbat while treating ourselves to a unique and meaningful experience where we can pray, study, learn and, of course, eat together.

Women’s Philanthropy is excited to infuse the beauty and spirituality of Shabbat into the important work we are doing and help each of us reenergize ourselves. A scholar-in-residence will be leading us throughout the program. We hope you will join us for this special and joyful bonding opportunity.

The Shabbaton will take place January 9-10, 2015 at a hotel in the Greater MetroWest community. It is open to women of all ages and no minimum gift is required. For more information, please contact Robin Leitner at (973) 929-3035 or rleitner@jfedgmw.org

It’s also time for the NEW Borinsky A.M. class to begin.

Calling all Borinsky Girls —Planning for the 6th Annual Borinsky A.M. program is underway. We’re excited to announce that the highly successful Borinsky A.M. program will continue in January. This eight-session program meets weekly at private homes throughout Greater MetroWest. Learn more about Federation and its vast network of agencies and initiatives while getting to know other dynamic women in the community. Borinsky is a wonderful way to make meaningful connections and meet amazing like-minded women. Please consider joining Borinsky or recommending a friend to us. For more information, please contact Robin Leitner at (973) 929-3035 or rleitner@jfedgmw.org.
