DECEMBER 2016

How Greater MetroWest Cares for Our Older Adults

by Laura Dorf Queller, Vice President, Communications and Marketing

Women’s Philanthropy held its December Board meeting at JCC MetroWest in West Orange, where we spent the morning learning about services and opportunities available to seniors in our community. For me, the timing couldn’t have been more appropriate, because our newsletter team was wrapping up this issue on the same important topic. So I sat up front and furiously scribbled notes as Larry Rein, chairman of the JCC’s Board of Trustees, offered an exhaustive list of activities for seniors that nourish “the body, mind, and soul.” more

  • How Greater MetroWest Cares for Older Adults in Our Community

Everyone ages in a unique way. And that is why there is no single cookie-cutter approach to care for older adults within Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest. Through an elaborate network of departments and partner agencies, our community connects with seniors as individuals and tailors services to meet their ever-changing needs.

  • How Greater MetroWest Cares for Older Adults Overseas

Our Jewish community extends around the world. Learn how our local Jewish Federation makes a difference in the lives of elderly Jews across the globe, enabling them to age in comfort, with dignity and well-connected to one another.

  • Words Worth Repeating

Lois Rose, a long-time champion for our special needs community, related her own story as the keynote speaker at the Aging and Disabilities Roundtable in September. Lois has devoted her professional and personal life to advocating for people with disabilities.

  • President's Message

I feel like I’m still 29 – in my mind! There are many physical and emotional signs that I am aging, but I am still amazed that I’m as old as I am!! It is core to our Jewish values and Federation’s mission to attend to and give dignity to the most vulnerable amongst us. Through our agencies and partnerships, Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest cares for our people from cradle to grave.
