A Feeling of “Wow”

The erev (eve) of each Jewish holiday has its own feeling as we approach it. On Erev Rosh HaShanah, it can be a feeling of introspection. On Kol Nidre, a feeling of the rush through the meal towards hours of remembering, praying, and repenting. On Purim, we anticipate joyous celebration with noise and song and hamentaschen. Tonight, we welcome in Passover at a season when everything is turning green, when we think of moving from the narrow straits of Mitzrayim — Egypt — towards the Promised Land. Towards the future.

For those of you who were able to join us at Tuesday night's Great Balls of Fire dueling piano event, we know that you echo our feeling of “wow!" What an amazing night that celebrated our growing and vibrant young adult community and this year's Julius and Bessie Cohn Award winners, Lee Murnick and Ariel Nelson. Lee and Ariel's dedication to our Greater MetroWest Jewish community is everything we hope for from our young leaders. Todah Rabah (thank you very much) to both of them. It was a privilege to celebrate with some 230 participants and experience the joy and promise of our community. The future of our Federation clearly rests in good hands.

Warm wishes for a chag sameach, a peaceful and happy Passover,

Leslie Dannin Rosenthal, President
Dov Ben-Shimon, Executive Vice President/CEO
