Federation Condemns "Price Tag" Attacks

May 9, 2014

Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ condemns the ongoing, increasing phenomenon of “price tag” attacks against Arabs. These crimes began in the West Bank and have now spread into Israel on mosques, churches and other property of Arab citizens. Our concern is that failure to tackle the problem could end up triggering a violent backlash causing immense damage to Jewish-Arab relations in Israel. As Jews, based on our values and tradition, we cannot tolerate any expressions of discrimination, violence and racism. We call on the Israeli government and law enforcement to do everything possible to arrest the perpetrators and punish them to the fullest extent of the law, sending a clear message that hate crimes will not be tolerated. Greater MetroWest proudly supports the full integration and coexistence of Israeli Arabs into Israeli society.
