Are you a grandparent interested in enhancing your relationship with your grandchild while strengthening your collective Jewish identity? If so, G2 is for you! G2 is a joint project of Federation and the Jewish Agency for Israel, designed to nurture Jewish identity growth through conversations and activities surrounding philanthropy, Israel, family, and community.

As a grandparent today, you have a unique opportunity to bond with your grandchildren through similar life experiences – you most likely both grew up in this country and share such experiences as religious school and summer camp. In addition, you are healthier, more active, and more involved in your grandchildren’s lives than were previous generations of grandparents.

An Innovative Jewish Experience
for Grandparents and Their Grandchildren

About this Program: This year-long initiative will give you and your grandchildren, rising fifth and sixth graders (ages 10-11) an opportunity to learn together by exploring Jewish experiences and  values. The program includes:

  • Peulot (Sessions).  Innovative and exciting Jewish programming that will give you an opportunity to share your experiences and inspire your grandchildren.
  • Monthly Mesimot (Adventures). Value-based monthly activities designed to deepen your relationship and practice Jewish values, such as cooking a family recipe together and creating a video to share its story, participating together in community events, exploring your family’s philanthropic values together, and sharing your family’s story at your Pesach seder.
  • Week-Long Israel Intergenerational Experience – December 24-31: Grandparents and grandchildren from five participating communities around the world will gather in Israel for a transformative experience, interacting with counterparts in Israel and sharing stories and experiences.

Key Dates: First meeting will be March 11 before Challah Bake Jr. After which, we will meet monthly, with a hiatus over the summer.
