Indoor axe-throwing is the latest trend, and NextDor is inviting all Greater MetroWest 25- to 45-year-olds to give it a try at our Spring Event on Thursday, May 10 at Bury the Hatchet in Bloomfield. A Jew and a Muslim on the Future of the Middle East – Author and journalist Yossi Klein Halevi and Imam Abdullah Antepli, both senior fellows on Jewish-Muslim relations at the Shalom Hartman Institute, will discuss this topic at a forum sponsored by our CRC in partnership with the Jewish News. Event will be moderated by Jewish News editor Gabe Kahn. more

Celebrating Greater Newark’s Jewish Legacy – On May 19, the main branch of the Newark Public Library will host an event that is being called Community History Day: Our Newark Story, with workshops, performances, demonstrations, crafts, and MORE!! The Jewish Historical Society has been invited to participate in the library’s celebration of Newark’s history. more

Two Workshops for Those Who Want to Help Struggling Teens On May 9, teens are invited to a workshop, Breaking the Silence, that will help them recognize and understand when a friend is suffering and needs help. And on May 10, Talking to G-d, Finding Your Voice is a workshop for parents of teens and young adults who are struggling through the challenges of growing up in today’s world.

An Inspiring Story of Struggle and Success – Three hundred women showed up for Women’s Awareness Day on April 25 to hear the amazing Dr. Yarden Fanta-Vagenstein speak about her exodus from Ethiopia. The audience was captivated by Yarden’s very personal and inspiring “road less traveled” story. more

All Are Invited to the Global Connections Spring Gala – At this year’s event on Thursday, May 31, we will honor outgoing Global Connections chair Paula Saginaw and say a warm farewell to our 2017-2018 Mishlachat. more

Unique Teen Summer Experiences in Israel – Open to teens entering grades 10 to 12, Hoop Connections, and the all-new Dance Connections, will bring together teens from Greater MetroWest with teens from our partner community of Arad to run either a basketball or dance clinic for children here and in Israel. more

BLOG: Collaboration – A community bike ride to raise money to help send kids to Jewish summer camp... positive feedback on support of partner agency leaders plus a visit to one agency that has been serving members of our community with special needs for 40 years... and finally, a discussion with some 40 synagogue presidents about our common goals and concerns.
