The evening will include musical performances, a candle lighting ceremony, and featured speaker Robert Bielsky, whose father and uncles saved more than a thousand Jews in the forests of Belarus. Educational and Entertaining Program for Seniors – Greater MetroWest CARES is partnering with JCC MetroWest to present a program with The NJ Mental Health Players on Monday, April 30 at 12:30 p.m. at the JCC MetroWest in West Orange. This interactive community education group will perform informative and entertaining skits of particular interest to seniors, followed by discussion on the topics presented. more
Learn to Stand Up and Speak Out for Israel – There’s still time to register for this one-day conference on April 22 that will empower high-school students to become pro-Israel supporters when they get to college, and to better understand the complexities of the Arab-Israeli conflict. more

Sharing Our Love of Literature – The next gathering of the Arad-Greater MetroWest International Book Club is scheduled for Sunday, May 6 at Adath Shalom in Randolph – to coincide with their Israel Festival. Book club members read the same book, in English or Hebrew, and come together for a virtual discussion. CORRECTION: Jewish Teen Writing Contest – Last week we included an incorrect link. Fresh Ink for Teens, an online magazine for Jewish teens, invites high school students to compete in the Norman E. Alexander Award for Excellence in Jewish Student Writing by submitting a 500-word essay on Jewish Contributions to American Music. The winner will receive $500 and a medal, and have their essay published in the Jewish Week and on Fresh Ink for Teens. more
