Powerful Mobile “This Is Hunger” Exhibit Coming to Our Community – MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger has designed a free exhibit in an 18 wheeler that is bringing Americans face to face with the stark realities of hunger in the United States as it travels to more than 30 cities nationwide. GMW Women Embark on a Civil Rights Journey – 43 women from our community are traveling from Atlanta to Montgomery to Selma to Birmingham, seeing the Rosa Parks Museum, the King Center, visiting the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Edmund Pettus Bridge, as part of a journey to explore the Civil Rights movement from a Jewish perspective. »more

Calling All Runners! – As many of our runner friends in Israel are starting to train for the third annual Race to the Sunrise, a nighttime run from Arad to Masada, we thought it would be fun to organize a group of GMW runners to train together, race together, and possibly travel to Israel together to participate in the Race to Sunrise. A Museum of Their Own – Students at Bruriah High School for Girls, part of the Jewish Educational Center in Elizabeth, transformed a hallway in their school into a Holocaust Museum, a process that enables them to relate to a difficult chapter in Jewish history on their own terms. »more
