We are horrified and heartbroken by yet another act of terrorism in Europe, this time in Copenhagen. We condemn these recent terror attacks that killed two people and wounded at least five police offices and extend our deepest sympathy and prayers to the victims and their families. We strongly denounce the precipitous rise in violent anti-Semitic activity in Europe and elsewhere in the world. We call on global leaders to take action to avert terrorist attacks on Jewish individuals, communities and institutions. We affirm and demand that Jews must have the right to live freely, openly, and safely as Jews. We will continue to stand with the Jewish community in Europe and elsewhere that is under attack. These attacks on the Jewish community are also attacks on western values and freedom of speech. Governments have the responsibility to protect Jewish communities, and all communities, from hate, violence, and attacks on our freedoms.
