JFS MetroWest has been helping families and individuals of all ages manage life’s challenges since 1861. JFS is the MetroWest community’s premier mental health and social service agency providing comprehensive behavioral healthcare and related social services to over 6,000 members of the Jewish and general communities in Essex, Morris, Sussex, and North Union Counties.

Children, Adolescents, and Families
JFS MetroWest offers a variety of services to support the emotional well-being of children, adolescents, and parents. We provide several types of psychotherapy, including: individual and family therapy, play therapy, and specialized therapies for children exposed to trauma. We also provide preschool services, counseling and assistance for children with learning differences and special needs, as well as support groups and workshops.

Adults
JFS MetroWest offers a range of programs and services to assist adult members of the community and their families in coping with challenges. We provide individual, family, and couples counseling, group services, financial assistance, and community workshops.

Older Adults
JFS MetroWest assists older adults and their families in embracing the aging process. We provide information and referrals and offer family caregiver services which include comprehensive assessments, Geriatric Care Management and Care Consultation. JFS also offers counseling and support groups, Holocaust Survivor services, Alzheimer’s and related dementia programs. JFS administers Hebrew Free Loan of NJ, offers financial crisis intervention through the JFS Safety Net Program, and can assist individuals applying for government assistance.

Services for Individuals with Disabilities
We provide services for children with learning differences and specials needs, Support Coordination for individuals eligible through the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities and Coordinated Care of MetroWest for family members of individuals with special needs.

Domestic Violence: Rachel Coalition
Rachel Coalition is a division of Jewish Family Service of MetroWest, and a partnership of eight northern New Jersey organizations working together to provide services to assist victims of domestic violence and their families and those living in high conflict households.
Rachel Coalition offers individual counseling provided by licensed clinical social workers, child-focused individual & group counseling, and group services. Additionally, legal assistance is provided by trained attorneys to assist in obtaining restraining orders and resolving related matters, referrals for shelter with kosher provisions, information, referral, education, and outreach, and social work services at Essex County Family Justice Center in Newark.

Volunteer Opportunities
JFS MetroWest offers a wide array of meaningful volunteer opportunities. Our volunteer staff matches interests and talents to community needs to ensure a gratifying experience. We offer mitzvah projects, adult volunteer opportunities, Rachel Coalition volunteer possibilities, and the RSVP Center of Essex & Hudson Counties, which is a comprehensive community service organization catering to individuals 55 and over.
