Job Title: Partnership2Gether Living Bridge Builder
Part-Time/plus occasional nights and weekends
Reports to: Director of Global Connections

Partnership2Gether (P2G) connects 450 Jewish and Israeli communities in 46 city-to-city and region-to-region Partnerships, engaging participants in meaningful ongoing connections between Israelis and Jews around the world, through unique programs and one-on-one encounters.

The Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ (GMW) is seeking a part time Bridge Builder to oversee and execute ‘Living-Bridge’ Programs between our local community and our partner communities of Ofakim/Merchavim and Arad in Israel.

We seek someone who will manage logistics with precision and be an active partner with our professionals in GMW and in Israel to imbue these people-to-people encounters with relevant Jewish content. The skills you bring will be diverse, as some bridges are crossed by teens, and most bridges are crossed by adults. One of our key goals is for all participants to come away from each experience with a clear understanding of what they have learned and the steps they will take as individuals, as a group and as people in Greater MetroWest to continue their bridge building efforts; we look to our Bridge Builder to be an active leader in developing such experiences

Living-Bridge programs include a 2-year leadership development program, The Peoplehood Project; the Arad Bookclub; and Neshema Yetera, a teen-exchange with Golda Och Academy (Conservative Day School in West Orange, NJ).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identify outcomes, develop educational content, and lead monthly scheduled workshops for various groups of Living Bridge participants throughout the year
• Manage the marketing, recruitment, interviewing and selection process of Living Bridge delegation participants and host families in New Jersey
• Design and lead, in partnership with our Federation colleagues in GMW and in Israel, Israeli delegations visiting the Greater MetroWest community as well as trips for NJ participants to Israel, with an eye towards the Jewish educational content that is relevant for each group.
• Program budget management
• Work in partnership with the Campaign and Community Outreach departments to develop follow-up plans for program participants
• Active participation in appropriate Greater MetroWest events, programs, and lay leader committee meetings
• Provide support to and/or attend community-wide programs as an ambassador of Federation and the larger Greater MetroWest community

EDUCATION OR TRAINING EQUIVALENT TO:
• BA in Education, Community Development or related field
• Experience developing and leading programming addressing Jewish identity development, youth leadership development, community service, and Israel education
• Experience in experiential education, group facilitation, program development and/or management

QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, ABILITIES, LICENSE):
• Understanding of and appreciation for Israeli societies, preferably including having spent extended time in Israel, and able to articulate a beginning-intermediate familiarity with Israeli history, politics, and geography
• Knowledge of the local Jewish community and prior experience working collaboratively with community professionals
• Professional commitment to enriching a pluralistic Jewish community
• Strong facilitation, education, organization, and communication skills required to effectively interact with, lead, and inspire a diverse body of teens, parents, community leaders and staff, as well as to effectively collaborate with partner agency staff
• Administrative and management skills including budget management, scheduling, and communications management
• Availability to work some nights and weekends
• Basic knowledge of Hebrew (preferred but not necessary)
