Who Are The Romani? Europe’s Ancient South Asian Transplants, Sunday, December 16, 10:00 AM at Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael and co-sponsored with the National Council of Jewish Women.
Sheetal Bangalore, an 11th grade student at Morristown High School, will present a fascinating talk about the Romani people and their culture. Originally of Indian descent, the Romani migrated to the European continent. Besides delving into the culture, language, and religious practices of the Romani, the talk will highlight the stereotyping and persecution of the Romani and the similarities in culture and history to the Jewish people. RSVP to 973-538-9292. The synagogue is at 177 Speedwell Avenue, Morristown.
