Golda Och Academy is a vibrant learning community that focuses on the individual intellectual, social, and spiritual needs of each child. We cultivate in students a lifelong love of learning within the context of Jewish knowledge and heritage. Our school is located on two campuses — one for the Lower School and one for the Upper School — located about two miles apart in West Orange, serving approximately 500 students from more than 60 communities across New Jersey.

Position

Golda Och Academy is currently seeking a dynamic Lower School STEM Teacher for the 2021 – 2022 school year.

Responsibilities
This individual will work collaboratively with the Lower School STEM team and the Director of STEM Education to enhance the curriculum and provide rich experiential opportunities for students. This work will include:
Partnering with the STEM team to re-envision the existing science and technology curricula to promote student-centered pedagogy and align with the Next-Generation Science Standards
Collaborating with General Studies and/or Judaic Studies to integrate STEM education across the upper elementary grades
Creating lunchtime and/or after-school STEM enrichment opportunities for students

Qualifications
At least 2-3 years of relevant teaching experience preferred
Degree in elementary education
Relevant STEM experience with elementary school students
M.A. and/or certification preferred
Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
