Gottesman RTW Academy is a community day school accredited by the NJ Association of Independent Schools for children infants through eighth grade. Located on a 21-acre campus in the heart of Morris County, the school serves a diverse population of Jewish families and students from Morris County and surrounding communities. Since opening its doors in 1967, it has been the mission of the school to provide each student with a superior education while instilling values and building character through a challenging dual curriculum. GRTWA also promotes the social and emotional well-being of all students and challenges them to become critical thinkers, inquisitive thinkers and respectful members of the community. Students graduate prepared for academic achievement at the highest level and a lifetime of success.

The Early Childhood Center (ECC), for children age 3 months through 5 years, is a nurturing and challenging world designed to educate the “whole child” — socially, emotionally, cognitively, spiritually, and physically. The multifaceted, success-oriented curriculum provides various avenues for learning while developing a sense of self-worth. The ECC occupies its own special place within Gottesman RTW Academy, providing unique opportunities for our young students. Our littlest learners enjoy exercising in our gym, borrowing books from the library, singing and dancing during music sessions, science and art with specialty teachers, and joining with our fifth-grade buddies.

Our ECC curriculum is constantly enhanced, enriched, updated, and modeled for other preschools. Junior Kindergartners (our fours) enjoy a curriculum which is fine tuned to ease the transition to kindergarten, while providing all the fun and challenges of the traditional preschool classroom. Hebrew immersion begins in our two-year-old classroom and grows along with the children. School day options range from two to five days per week, with “before” and “after” care available, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The elementary and middle schools maintain the highest standards of academic excellence through a high-quality integrated curriculum in general and Jewish studies. Experienced faculty teach math, science, language arts, and social studies, as well as Hebrew language, Jewish history, and holidays. Additional programs include art, music, and physical education. Middle school students can join a variety of interscholastic sports teams. After-school programs include music, art, theater, and science.

Through our Shlichim (Israeli emissary) program with Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ, our students develop special bonds with the Jewish community and Israel. The Academy stresses personal development, social growth, and self-esteem; students leave Gottesman RTW Academy ready to become integral parts of both American society and the Jewish community in which they live.

Gottesman offers a comprehensive affordability program for all families. It is our goal to welcome Jewish families into our community and educate their children regardless of need.
