PART TIME

Jewish Federation is hiring a part time, 19 hours a week, VolunTEEN Mitzvah Project Coordinator! This dynamic individual will help grow community service projects in one of the largest markets in America and will promote tikkun olam and community activism among teens and educators in the Greater MetroWest area. VolunTEENS will be developed and implemented alongside Federation’s adult VolunTeam programs. VolunTeams are groups comprised of individuals who work together and collectively provide for an organization’s needs. This model will be ideal for teens who are interested in volunteering on a regular basis, but may not be able to commit to every single opportunity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Identification, coordination and execution of the VolunTEENS service opportunities for teens in grades 7-12
  • Establish relationships with community agencies and other partners
  • Assist the Jewish Service Learning Coordinator in facilitating Mitzvah Mania service projects
  • Build relationships with local educators- including those in Hebrew schools, Jewish day school and Jewish youth movements to bring Jewish Federation’s teen programing to their institutions, and to bring their teens to Federation service programs
  • Recruit students for VolunTEENS and other teen programs run by Jewish Federation
  • Collaborating within the Community Engagement department for occasional joint programming with VolunTeams adult service projects
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends
  • Opportunities for career development

QUALIFICATIONS:

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Two to three years of related experience
  • Familiarity with the Greater MetroWest area is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with teens
  • Leadership experience
  • Event planning experience
