POSITION:         Marketing Manager/Content Strategist

REPORTS TO:   Chief Impact Officer

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Manage a specialized marketing team and develop content that will inspire others' philanthropy. It is the perfect combination of utilizing technical skills to help make the world a better place. The Marketing Manager is charged with developing an understanding of our target audiences to create content that resonates with our existing base as well as engages new or overlooked constituents. Use data, research and psychology to help shape our organization's narrative in a way that inspires others to support our mission of caring for those in need, creating a vibrant community, and saving lives.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Creating creative and conceptual direction for integrated marketing campaigns
  • Ensuring alignment between organization mission and marketing/communication materials
  • Developing and implementing Social Media strategy and analysis, including the maintenance of an editorial calendar
  • Exploring new content channels and approaches to drive the organization’s key objectives, including fundraising, outreach and engagement
  • Planning, writing and editing content (includes creating short and medium length copy for print and digital marketing materials as well as some longform articles)
  • Building strategic partnerships - internally with colleagues, as well as with key leaders in our community

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience that demonstrates strong skills in marketing, communications, journalism and storytelling
  • Strong writing skills, including copywriting
  • Experience working with donors or in philanthropy is a plus
  • An understanding of how to tailor content to different digital and social media platforms, and analyzing performance across these platforms
