Summary
The Global Connections department creates and fosters connections between the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ, Israel, and the Jewish Diaspora through community engagement and people-to-people connections.

The Global Connections Associate will work as part of the dynamic Global Connections team to develop and implement parts of Federation’s Israel and Overseas work, including but not limited to, leading living bridge programs, allocations, and fostering lay/volunteer relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Living-Bridge Delegations
Design and lead, in partnership with our Federation colleagues in GMW and in Israel, Israeli delegations visiting the Greater MetroWest community as well as trips for NJ participants to Israel, with an eye towards the Jewish educational content that is relevant for each group.

  • Building and coordinating the delegation’s program and schedule
  • Working with Global Connections professionals on logistics and budget
  • Work in partnership with the Campaign and Community Engagement departments to develop follow-up plans for program participants
  • Working on the ground with the delegations

Rishonim (Young Emissary) host families

  • Work with Senior Shaliach (Emissary) to recruit host families to house the Rishonim
  • Work with host families during the year on problem solving
  • Build long-term relationships and integrate them as donors and activists in Greater MetroWest

Other

  • Represent Federation both within and outside of the Jewish community
  • Manage the marketing, recruitment, interviewing and selection process of Living Bridge delegation participants and host families in New Jersey
  • Program budget management
  • Active participation in appropriate Greater MetroWest events, programs, and lay leader committee meetings
  • Provide support to and/or attend community-wide programs as an ambassador of Federation and the larger Greater MetroWest community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Significant experience building partnerships and relationships around a shared vison and mutual respect
  • Strong personal presence that motivates and inspires
  • Ability to work collaboratively in and between departments
  • Understanding of the diaspora Jewish community and Israel historical and present
  • Ability to work occasional evening hours and travel throughout Israel and Overseas on occasion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management skills / experience
  • Strong leadership, managerial, time management and administrative skills
  • Experience forming and managing lay and professional committees
  • Four - five years of achievement in non-profit organizations
