Religious School Teacher
Conservative Synagogue in Springfield, NJ, is seeking to welcome new educators into our Religious School faculty. We invite you to join our enthusiastic, committed staff, who promotes Jewish education as a lifelong journey that is meaningful, dynamic and inspiring! We are seeking energetic and passionate people who want to teach and also learn with and from our students.

Our school meets Sundays from 9:00am-12pm and Tuesdays from 4pm-6pm.

The ideal candidate has a thorough knowledge of Jewish customs and practices, prior experience and must enjoy working in an intimate school setting where we are creating positive Jewish learning experiences for our children.
Duties include:
• Preparing weekly lessons based on our general curriculum that include themes of historical and mythical origins of humans and early Jewish culture, as well as personal/cultural identity
• Engaging in productive interpersonal problem-solving and community building at an age-appropriate level
• Ability/willingness to interact with parents, as well as work with and guide teenage teacher's aides
• Submitting to Education Director via email, a brief summary of the week's activity following each week's class

We are seeking energetic and passionate people who want to not only teach but also to learn with and from our students. Teachers are expected to create lessons and activities that engage students in Jewish life and exploration of Jewish identity. Teachers must have knowledge of basic Hebrew. Some classroom teaching experience is a plus! Teachers will be expected to prepare lesson plans in advance, attend occasional staff meetings and a few school-related events outside of standard class hours throughout the year.
